1. Run startup repair.

If your system is showing you error code 0xc0000001 and not booting then, you can simply run the Startup Repair to fix the issues coming continuously. Turn on Your Windows Computer or Laptop, and Before the logo Windows displays on the Screen, Click on the Power button then repeat this same step for 3 times. After that when you do it for the third time it will automatically show you the Automatic Repair environment.

  1. In the Automatic Repair environment, click Advanced Options on the screen, and follow the given steps to perform Startup Repair:
  2. Select Troubleshoot.
  3. Select Advanced Options on the screen.
  4. Click Startup Repair and proceed.
  5. After clicking Startup Repair select the account type and then Enter your password.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. After all of this is done then the Startup repair starts.
  8. Then simply follow the instructions given by your computer displayed on your screen for completion of the Startup Repair Process.
  9. Now, Check whether the issue is fixed or not by just restarting it.

2. Use Command Prompt Utility

If automatic repair didn’t work, you can try repairing it using the commands under Advanced Options. Follow the below-given steps :
  1. Create a media which is bootable and then, boot the media using a PC.
  2. On the screen of Windows Installation, select Next steps followed by Repair your computer one by one.
  3. Now, select Troubleshoot and then Proceed to > Advanced options then Proceed to > System Recovery Options screen and open the command prompt.
  4. Enter the commands listed below one by one and after that press Enter :
  • BOOTREC /FIXMBR
  • BOOTREC /FIXBOOT
  • BCDEDIT /EXPORT C:\BCDBACKUP
  • ATTRIB C:\BOOT\BCD -H -R -S
  • REN C:\BOOT\BCD BCD.OLD

After all of this if it is showing you "The system cannot find the file specified", then try:

BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD

In case you need to select the Yes or No option, select yes.
If it shows the error that "Your system cannot find the file specified file" then go with different drives.

3. Run System Restore

If any of the methods does not work then you can use System Restore to fix the error code 0xc0000001.

Note: System restore is risky because every bit of data you stored on your PC is vanish. So take a backup of your important files in the cloud or any storage device.

Proceed with the below-given steps to perform System Restore.

  1. Begin with booting your PC with the USB installation media.
  2. From the main screen it shows an option named Repair your computer, click on that option.
  3. Then, Open Troubleshoot and go to > Advanced Options After that Open > System Restore.
  4. And then just simply click on Next and then select the restore point.
  5. Click on the ‘Scan for affected programs’ options, followed by Next > Finish

4. Run System File Checker (SFC)

You can use the System File Checker tool to scan Windows and restore files if some of the Windows functions aren’t working or when Windows crashes. Here are the steps :
  • Continuously press the Windows key and X keys after that Choose Command Prompt.
  • Select Yes on the User Account Control (UAC) prompt that appears on your screen.
  • Enter SFC /scannow when the cursor appears blinking and press the Enter on keyboard.
  • After that SFC inspects the integrity of Windows system files.

5. Repair damaged SAM file.

To repair the damaged SAM file, follow the below steps :
  1. Boot the computer.
  2. Then, go to Troubleshoot followed by Advanced options.
  3. Click on the Command Prompt and enter the following command: C:\\Windows\\Repair\\Sam C:\\Windows\\System32\\Config
  4. Press the Enter key and click on Yes when required.
